Cattleman's Steakhouse in Fabens has secured a commanding role in El Paso dining. The steaks, of course, are the primary draw and they are indeed nothing less than fabulous. When owner, Dieter Gerzymisch first came to Fabens in 1969, there was nothing except beautiful desert. Originally only horseback riding and boarding was available on the ranch. Cattleman's steakhouse opened in May of 1973, to give riding customers a place to eat. Over a five year span Cattleman's began to outgrow the original building. In 1978 the Garden room and the Greenhouse was added to accommodate an extra 180 guests. Dieter believes strongly in giving great customer service and serving quality food. He promises his guests, “Good food! at a profit if we can, at a loss if we must. But always good food!” Dieter stills buys every pound of beef himself for Cattleman's to ensure the freshness and quality of his meat. Cattleman's Steakhouse serves one of the best 2lb. steaks in the area. And for those of you with smaller appetites the 6oz. Filet Mignon is absolutely mouth watering. The menu also features slow smoked BBQ, steamed seafood and some chicken and pork entrees. All meals are served family-style so be sure and bring your loved ones and your appetite.
