Homegrown Pecans of the Mesilla Valley
When I was 25, I spent a month-and-a-half harvesting pecans. I was a tourist—doing it on break from school because it seemed like a good experience, like something I could say I had done afterwards. I needed the money, yes, but I was not planning on making this my profession. I had no idea what I would be doing and I certainly wasn’t prepared for what was in store of me.
